A few weeks ago, I moved to Central London! That’s right, little old me is living in the big city! I’m still trying to wrap my head around it all if I’m honest.
After getting a little sick of spending my first year commuting to uni, I knew that I wanted to experience living in the heart of London. Even though life in London is ridiculously expensive, it’s an opportunity that doesn’t come around often! So three weeks ago, I packed my bags and moved into halls.
As for the flat, I have a standard en-suite bedroom and share a kitchen with seven other students. I’m still in the process of making my room a little more homely, but it’s slowly getting there! My absolute FAVOURITE thing about the flat is our view. My flatmates and myself are EXTREMELY lucky and have the London Eye sitting directly opposite us. It’s absolutely stunning (especially at night) and it most certainly feels like a pinch me moment.
In fact, the entire location is fab. With Waterloo station and the Southbank just around the corner, it really doesn’t take a great walking distance to travel in city. At the moment, the student life is slowly creeping up on me and I feel like I’ve taken the location for granted a little bit. Luckily I have a few days off soon, so I’ll definitely be making the most of it and explore more!
As for the student life, I’m really liking the independence, but boy am I broke! With weekly shopping, laundry, and some extra cash for tube fairs and some sort of social life, it’s been quite a challenge for me to balance it all! Unfortunately, my student finance only just about covers my rent, so I have to work on weekends to support myself. Boo, retail sucks! But it’s all part of the learning curve I suppose!
Now that I’m living in London, I have a lot of exciting ideas for content! Expect a few more posts which are all about the London Life coming your way…
